Community Partnership School Information

A small Design Team composed of teachers, staff (school principal, social worker, afterschool program coordinator, associate educators), and parents have started to explore Community Partnership status to see if it would be a good fit for our school.

Community Partnership Schools offer an opportunity for change. They allow schools to determine how they spend their money, make their schedule, hire new teachers, design their instructional program and develop partnerships within their community.

Community Partnership Schools design, plan and implement an overall strategy for their school with the support of the Office of New Schools and the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers.

There are currently 6 Community Partnership Schools in the Minneapolis Public Schools District.

More information on Community Partnership Schools is available on the Minneapolis Public Schools website:

The Design Team will keep families informed of their findings as they work through the process.
